There's a growing pressure to "do something with AI".
For many businesses, that means experimenting with tools before understanding where they actually add value. The result is predictable: disconnected features, unclear outputs, and systems that look impressive in a demo but fail in day-to-day use.
AI should not start with capability. It should start with a problem.
If a use case cannot be clearly defined, measured, and justified commercially, it should not be built. Not because the technology isn't capable, but because the outcome won't be reliable or accountable.

- Supporting decision-making, not replacing it
What matters is not the model, but the context it operates in.
AI needs:
- Clear inputs
- Defined outputs
- Guardrails and validation
- Alignment with how people already work
Without that, it introduces risk rather than reducing it.
The difference between a useful system and a liability is not intelligence. It is engineering, control, and commercial reasoning.
